Even though I've been so much worried about my life here in London things seems to get back on the right place. In those three weeks I've learned a lot not just about life here, life generally but also about myself. It may seemed funny but I really grown up a bit in this time. And I totally understand now why Peter Pan didn't want to grow up. It's sucks! And as I said before I learned seriously so much about myself but when I get back home I still want to be childish for awhile. In the end of the day I'm gonna be grown up my whole life. 

My Christmas was also so good. Even through I haven't been with my family again for the Christmas I had almost best Christmas so far. Me and my new friends here spend the Christmas together at Astor Museum Hostel, made traditional British Christmas dinner, opened gifts from our secret santa which was so much fun and then had a few drinks, shisha, played party games and what's the best part...even through we're all far away from home we were like familly. All together! It's so interesting how people can get so fast under your skin. And now when I have such a cool peeps around me here I don't even want to go. Well, sad thing is that I have to go soon but now I'm even more sure that this is definitely the city where I want to spend my life. Everything is just so...perfect. And I've been in New York as I said few times before, Nice, St.Tropez, Cannes, Italy, Hungary, Austria, etc. but there's so place like London. Everything is just so perfect for me. From their lifestyle, food, traditional, people to parties. So this Christmas I'm really greatful to have such a supportive family who made my one month trip to London possible and beeing supportive whole year, for my friends, the real one who was always there for me and not only when they needed something from me and to be so lucky enough to meet all those amazing people here (expecially Liz, Nick L., Jay-Jay, Dhiraj who did so much for me...thanks guys so much!).

So here I am...across the Themes river watching famous London eye and thinking how fast my two weeks passed by. And I loved every single minute of it! It just makes me kind of sad when I think about life here. When you really enjoy in something and when something makes you really happy in goes by in a blink of an eye. And that's really not fair. Have you ever wished you could just stop time and just be in that one moment? Well, I did.

I've been in London few times before so it's not my first time here. But it's the first time that I'm working here and trying to make my "american dream" come true. When I was on the safe ground in Slovenia with my head in the clouds I imagined everything would be...easy. That I would from the moment plane touched London's ground get perfect job, get money, my bank account, insurance number, perfect place to stay and you know..get my american dream. But let me tell you...you have to work you ass off, start on the bottom and working hard from day to day hoping that one day you'll maybe make it in this gorgeous, big concrete jungle where people drive on the wrong side of the road. And to make everything so movie, heart-breaking like evertyhing is so expensive here and you have to get money somewhere from week to week. Well my Australian friends would probably disagree with me, because for them it is cheap here, but for us continental Europeans it is expensive...trust me. And even through I have really cool people around me here and my old friends I just feel so alone and lost at least once per day. And I'm not type of a person who gets homesick but when you're so far away from your home and loved once you actually see how small you really are...and mostly alone. But that's ok...I guess. You have to be strong and trust in yourself, get up when you feel low and try, try, try to do best you can.

There's no guarantee that I'm gonna make it. That this trip would be successful. Every once in a while I want to just sit down and cry and get back home...but then I look out and in a moment everything becomes great again. I'm in my dream city after all! I always wanted to live here. And now I have a chance to make my dreams come true. Everthing is up to me. But at least I'm gonna give my best in what I do and be positive and hope for the best. Maybe it's not my time yet to get my dreams comes true but I'm gonna try. At least I would know in the end that I have given my best and tried. Tried hard. And that's a big thing. That's makes you better person. You learn a lot. Get to know new things, tradition, people...and that's something. What do you think guys? Am I gonna make it? Is it my time?

Would you believe me if I said that this is not a dress but my mom's skirt? 

Probably not, but trust me...it is. But luckily I'm pretty small so her skirt was perfect as a dress for me. If I'm completely honest I didn't like that skirt as a skirt that much, but as a dress I think it looks super fab! It's actually so Coco Chanel, isn't it? Well, sadly it's not ( it's from Supreme Being) but it looks like that. 

Beside me being me and wearing my mom's skirt as a dress things still going pretty great. Just one week is left until my vacation in St.Tropez and just a few week (two weeks or a little bit more) until my trip to where my heart actually belongs - to London. I'm pretty nervous about that, let me tell you. This time I'm not going just to a trip and to see my friends but I'm going to College Of Fashion where I'm gonna take a 2 weeks course. I'm so thrilled about that but at the same time I'm also pretty scared. What if I turned out to be such a anti talent for that? What if everyone else is better than me? What if I get lost like millions times? Because trust me, I'm more than perfect in that. I get lost even in Ljubljana, easily. If there's a minimal chances for anyone to get lost, that would be me. Yes, I know I've been there a millions time before and I know SW1 pretty good, but what about the rest part of London? I guess, I have to wait to get these answers...

It's so hard to believe it's already August, isn't it? 

I wish summer could somehow get pregnant so we could have 9months of summer. Seriously, that would be so awesome! Well that or moving to California. To the warm, wet and wild California! I have always wished I could been a Cali girl. I can totally imagine myself living on Malibu beach, throwing a small party on my backyard (which is on the beach) for my peeps, surfing whenever I want, still working hard for my dreams, sitting on the beach with my friends around the fire and playing guitar ( not me but I'd love to learn to play at least one song on a acoustic guitar in the future). Sounds pretty great, right? 

But then again, if I'm completely honest I don't think I can see myself living anywhere else than in London. I spend so much time in London. I go there every now and then and stay there for the whole month. There's just something so magical about that town for me. It inspires me so much to be better, to do better! And their lifestyle, habits, streets, architecture, people, food, shops, ascent...everything is like more than perfect for me. And my friends from there have teached me so much about different areas (where is too dangerous to be, about the crime there), about the people and their habits and every time I go there I'm even more impressed. I don't even mind the rain there! So I guess I'd love to live in London and have a house at Malibu beach so I can go there whenever I want. Or no wait, I got even better idea...I could live there in the winter time and live in London in the autumn/spring/summer time.

I'm such a typical Libra! I never know for sure want I want, I changed my mind so many times in hope for better decision. I have to think almost every decision and try to find out what's the best to do. So my life is pretty much always ...this or that?

I tried so hard to be something I'm not for awhile now. You know, my style was from always a bit more boho, hippie. I love to wear funky things, but somehow I always thought that is not good enough for fashion world/blog but now I just don't care anymore. The thing is...you can't please everyone, you just have to be yourself and hope people would like it. I mean, that's the whole point, right? To be different, to have your own style? So you are gonna see me wearing a lot of funky things from now on, because I can't lie, this is me. And I really hope you would like it! 

So as you can see I really mean it when I said that I'm obsessed with turban headbands! That a must have for me, lately! But what I really wanted to show you guys this time is this gorgeous Topshop shirt! I never seen such a beautiful back on a shirt before! What do you think about the back of the shirt?

You know what's the main problem of the summers? They're short. Too short in fact, so I'm really trying to take as much as possible from my summer. I want to look back sometimes in the winter and remember all those crazy summer nights we had together, all those dumb things we did together, times when we laughed our asses off, remember beautiful new places we went and amazing people we met. That's what I want from my summer. And that's exactly what I'm experiencing with my peeps right now. And I'm also super excited to experience Paris in summer time with my peeps very soon, and then enjoy myself and get some relaxation for my brains in beautiful Cannes and St. Tropez and then finish my summer in London! I don't have to mention how excited I am to see my peeps from there, right? We already have some pretty funny plans so I really can't wait to get there. How was your summer so far, dolls?

Right now I'm pretty obsessed with turban headbands! And when I'm I say obsessed I really mean it! Don't you just want to wear it all the time? Or is it just me?

Sorry guys, I know I've been away for a while but things has been a bit hectic lately. Fist and a pretty big thing for me, I'm not gonna lie is moving into the center of Ljubljana from my beautiful, lovely, kind, peaceful village. I never had problem with such things before, but know I have to admit is not as easy as I thought is going to be. I swear to you, if I wouldn't have such a big and beautiful closet in my new room I would probably go back to my old house and camping there until someone had mercy from my old neighbors and consequently persuaded my parents that we should stay there after all. But that's not gonna hapened now. Blame it on my new closet! How fast you can buy me, ha? Shame on me..

Besides that there still so much going on in my life right now. Remember when I told you a couple of months ago that I'm working on some big things...or should I say on my dreams? Well, I'm still working on that. I wish I could tell you what I'm gonna work on next two years but unfortunately I still can't. Buuuuuuut I can finally reveal my new website name which is coming very soon. So from the official opening there will be no Selma Špendl blog, but my website Posh Vanilla - Fashion Capcake by Selma Špendl website where you will be able to find my blog, buy my "collection" and so much more. But we all have to wait for that a little bit more. So, what do you think about the name? Like it? Let me know, please. I'm also going in September to the summer course of London College Of Fashion, which I'm super excited about. Probably more because I'm gonna see my friends from London and being there, but I'm also very excited about the course too. And nervous at the same time! What's up with you guys? Any big plans for this summer? 

Bandage leggings are definitely some of my favorites right now. 

They were on my wish-list for over two years now. So, yes...pretty long time. When I first saw them on Tumblr (btw you can also follow me on Tumblr ) I imidiately fell in love with them. Everything that looks a bit badass is fine for me, you know. If I like something, I'll find a way to make it wearable for me. When I saw bandage leggings for the first time I thought to myself "what a badass leggings! I have to have them!". Time goes by very quickly and quite some time has passed and we still didn't get them here in Slovenia. I thought we are just late, like usually. The thing is that things always arrive a bit later, but sometimes they don't arrive at all - like this time, with my bandage leggings. So whether they never made it to Slovenia or I was looking at the wrong places/stores... the thing is I have never got them. So couple of days ago seemed like perfect time to make them by myself.

Do you have any pair od bandage leggins? I know I'm a bit late with the whole bandage leggings fever, but if there is someone like me who still doesn't have them, but wants them, here is how to make them...

I finally got this plastic bag. It's been on my wish list since I saw it in British Vogue in February issue, I believe. I'm not sure why but this bag is really cool to me. So different from the others bags I had before. And you can use it in millions different ways. I'm gonna use it also for the beach when the time for that comes. What do you think? Like it or hate it?

My parents also surprised me with the new Pony bike and I'm still so happy about it. It's  been also on my wish-list for a very long time. I just have to pimp my ride now and it's gonna be just the way I want it to be, but more about that in my next post. 

New Vogue issue, new ideas. 

I was kind of late this month but I got it now and that what's really important. Oh, I'm talking about May issue of Vogue. Everytime I got the new issue of Vogue I feel like the most happy child on earth. I start smelling the pages...I know, it seems a bit strange but i can't help myself. I just love the smell of a brand new magazine. And then I lost myself somewhere in different articles. Like every month some article catch my attention more than others so it was no different this month. Vogue scrapbook catch my attention this time. 

It's all about...orange zest!

Yes, it's more about adding some orange elements, like just an orange nails (like at Cacharel) or zesty eyes (like at Anna Sui) or the orange lips (like at Erdem and Margaret Howell) but my attention went on runways this time. We could catch on runways completely orange outfits ( like at Mark Fast, Hermes, Matthew  Williamson) so I decide to try it. What do you think?

I remember how we used to walk on each others All-Stars so they got "dirty" faster. You know, there's a rule about All-Star shoes which sais that they have to look like you walked some miles in them. So we always tried to make our new pair look like that. Did you ever do the same thing? Walk on each others shoes? Anyway beside my old pair of All-Stars I finally had a chance to wear this gorgeous Versace shirt which I have..I guess 2 years now but I never get a chance to wear it before. Until now! I also wore Topshop denim skirt after awhile now and Versace belt. 

 I'm going through a dull day, today. Now I'm pretty sure that the weather affect my mood! Every now and then gloomy day saps my energy, somehow. And when that kind of day came I just like to do..well, not so much. Ordinary, girly things, like catch up with the girls for some chic-chat, watch some good movie, read some heart-breaking book, listen music or go through my favorite magazines or blogs. But because I already went through my favorite magazines for this month I decided to buy MODNA this time. I usually never buy this magazine, but I did it, this time. Guess why? Because of some of Slovenian bloggers which are presented in the magazine. And I also got a few new things from Ličila.si, so I decided to end my dull day and make a haul, so I can share these amazing products with you. 

I was lucky girl once again! After Phillips Fashion Week I was also invited to International Fashion Week by Fashion.si! There were a lot of...well, not very flattering critiques and I really can't understand why? Yes, they could get some "better" designers. And by "better" I don't mean they are not good... not at all! What I'm trying to say is there's a lot of International designers and they could get some more "wow" once. But still, I was enjoying every single moment in the presented ones! And there were quite a few designers, especially young designers that have blown me away! The first and the second day! And not to mention the whole organization! They took a FW to the whole another level! Fancy level! From the ride with Mercedes Benz there and back to the place you want to welcome drinks, how the place was arranged, photographers who photograph also people with some good outfits, not only famous people from Slovenia. So I don't see what was that wrong. It's not easy to make such a great event and I think they did a great, great job! It's just too bad there was not at least one more day.

Hello beauties! I went out last night for a dinner with my boyfriend Martin. We decided for Thai cuisine this time. I was not even a fan of Thai food before but then I discover this lovely modern Thai restaurant in the city  a few years ago named Dabuda. Completely another level of Thai cuisine! More modern, I guess..

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I had a chance to catch some sun before I went to work, but tomorrow I'll spend the whole day at the seaside with my babe. What's better than a little get away trip, lying on the sun, ice cream, delicious lunch? Exactly what I need! Tomorrow is also a Golden Globes red carpet fashion! Can't wait to see all that gorgeous dresses! What have you all got planned for the weekend?

Im a little bit late, but..Happy New Year, dolls! 

I hope everyone's had an amazing New Year's Eve. I feel so happy that I had a chance to spend my New Year's Eve here in London! I've never seen someting so spectacular. When Big Ben tolled midnight you could see such a breath taking fireworks! Among the whistling and shouting crowd, laughter,congratulation and the sound of fireworks you could hear New Year's songs. It was such a magical moment! We had such a beautiful view from the roof of our condo! A couple of minutes before midnight we went from our flat to the roof  where we joined another neighbours from the condo. And not only that we all congratulated each others, we also congratulated with the neighbours from the opposite condo. While I was watching the fireworks I could see in my mind pictures from the pasing year. I didn't even noticed that has passed by so fast! It was one of the hardest but also one of the best years untill now. There were some sad and hard moments, but there was much more beautful things that happened to me. So many memorable moments. But now it's time for new memories and new unforgettable moments. It's time for new begining. New year, new chanches, new opportunites, new round of catching dreams. Everthing is possible again. And there is no better way to start a New Year than with a New Year's resolutions. I usually forget about the resolutions I made, but this year I'll make sure I stick with them! ( I'll post my resolutions up tomorrow). What about you, dolls? Any resolution for 2012?

Because today I woke in a rainy weather I decided it's perfect opportunity to visit British museum. It's my 3rd time in London and I have never been in British museum, even though it's one of the word's greatest museums of human history and culture. There are parliament collections, numbering eight milions works. It was defiinitely fascinating to see all that things which we can find through the human development. But what really took my breath away were leather boots from the 1st century. If you look at the picture of the "rear part of leather boots" you can't see anything else but the same shoes we wore today. Well, a little bit more modern probablly but it's the same one! A lot of things we can find through the fashion decades we are actually still wearing today. From these leather boots to black Givenchy dress which Audrey Hepburn wore in  one of the biggest fashion moments in history! Then, glamurous Rock'n'Roll which now inspires the look of Kate Moss. As Coco Chanel said once:  Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
